Many companies nowadays have built their business strategies around finding ways to rack up profits. Strategies such as: charging you extra, giving you a smaller amount for the same price or even reducing the quality of the product. But what is a company's main source of profits ?
YOU the consumers of course !
Unlike most companies, WestJet is one of the few companies that like to put their customers first before their profits. It is because of this philosophy that they are successful in today's airline industry ! It makes sense right? Benefit the customer, have them spread good word of mouth about the company and they’ll return (maybe with even more people !) .
To add onto how much WestJet values their customers, they are considered and treated as "guests". Yes. not passengers, not customers. Guest. One great marketing tool that WestJet had launched to show their guests that they truly value customer care was the “Care-antee” campaign. Bob Cummings launched this public commitment campaign in 2009 and calls it a “set of promises we vow to uphold in the good times and bad”.
I found this campaign to be a thoughtful and innovative way to take customer care to a new level and amplify what most airlines give.
For Example,
Most airlines make similar guarantees such as:
- Making sure your flight is safe
- Making sure your flight provides food
WestJet however.. For Example,
Most airlines make similar guarantees such as:
- Making sure your flight is safe
- Making sure your flight provides food
CARE-antees that:
- You are looked after and your flight is a relaxing and enjoyable one
- Your flight has food that is fresh AND free.

What do you guys think of this “Care antee” program ? Do you think other airlines should implement a similar program ?

West Jet is the only airline that I fly on and they give me no trouble. From my own personal experience, they gave me great customer service and made sure I had a smooth and comfortable travel! other airlines should definitely follow a similar program.
ReplyDeleteI agree ! I complained about my headache on my flight to Winnipeg, WestJet made me warm soup and advil ! this definitely cheered me up. It would be awesome if other airlines like AirCanada did this too. A little extra care and comfort for those long flights wouldn't hurt.
